The client expressed a strong preference for a ‘cold winter’ colour pallet and monochrome geometrical contrasts. Part of the brief was to create a space that could function as a home, while accommodating a vast collection of art. Bold choices were welcome, and yet we needed to create calmer moments, for example changing the layout in the bathroom to include a bath, while tuning down the contrasts in this zone of rest.

The client is a pleasantly unconventional young woman — a finance professional, art collector and artist.
